Posture refers to the body's alignment and positioning. Whether we are standing, sitting, or lying down, gravity exerts a force on our joints, ligaments, and muscles.

Proper alignment can improve breathing, circulation, and digestion. Proper posture allows the internal organs in the abdomen to assume their natural position without undue compression. Having good posture can also help to keep bones and joints in correct alignment so that our muscles are used correctly, decreasing the abnormal wearing of joint surfaces that could result in degenerative arthritis and joint pain.

The spine is an intricate structure that supports the rest of the body. Correct posture is crucial to a healthy spine and maintaining good posture while standing, sitting, or lying down is important to overall health, which is why we invite you to sign up for The Posture Challenge.

During this 14-day event, we will offer daily challenges to help you improve your posture. We will discuss the benefits of proper posture, how to identify poor posture and common causes of misalignment.
